What Does Zechariah 6:1 Mean?
This is the eighth and final vision in Zechariah's night of revelation. The prophet lifts his eyes and watches four war chariots ride out from the narrow pass between two mountains of brass, as though through a gate flung open from the very dwelling of God.
Brass speaks of strength that does not bend and of judgment that has been refined in fire. From between these immovable mountains the purposes of the Lord come rolling out into the world. Nothing here moves by accident; the God who set the mountains in place is the God who sends His messengers forth, and the reader is invited to trust that His rule over history is fixed and sure.
