The Doubting Thomas
A week after the resurrection, Jesus appears again and invites Thomas to touch the wounds in his hands and side, and Thomas answers, 'My Lord and my God' (John 20). An oil on canvas by the Danish painter Carl Bloch (1881).

Carl Heinrich Bloch was a Danish painter best known for the 23-painting cycle on the life of Christ commissioned for the Chapel of Frederiksborg Castle (1865–1879). His warmly lit, intimate scenes are among the most widely reproduced devotional images of the 19th century.
