Jesus Is Found in the Temple
After three days of searching, Mary and Joseph find the boy Jesus in the temple, seated among the teachers and astonishing them with his understanding (Luke 2). An oil on copper by the Danish painter Carl Bloch (1879).

Carl Heinrich Bloch was a Danish painter best known for the 23-painting cycle on the life of Christ commissioned for the Chapel of Frederiksborg Castle (1865–1879). His warmly lit, intimate scenes are among the most widely reproduced devotional images of the 19th century.
