The Wedding at Cana
At the wedding feast in Cana, Jesus turns the water drawn into six great stone jars into wine, the first of his signs, and his disciples believe in him (John 2). An oil on canvas by the Danish painter Carl Bloch (1870).

Carl Heinrich Bloch was a Danish painter best known for the 23-painting cycle on the life of Christ commissioned for the Chapel of Frederiksborg Castle (1865–1879). His warmly lit, intimate scenes are among the most widely reproduced devotional images of the 19th century.
