Jesus Led from Herod to Pilate
Arrayed in mockery by Herod's soldiers, Jesus is sent back through the streets to Pilate, and that day the two rulers become friends (Luke 23). A watercolor by the French painter James Tissot, from his life of Christ.

French painter who, after a vision experience in 1885, devoted the rest of his career to an extensive illustrated New Testament based on travel through the Holy Land. His watercolors are now held at the Brooklyn Museum.
