Jesus Found in the Temple

After three days his parents find the boy Jesus in the temple, seated among the teachers, listening and asking questions, and all are amazed at his understanding (Luke 2). A watercolor by the French painter James Tissot, from his life of Christ.

French painter who, after a vision experience in 1885, devoted the rest of his career to an extensive illustrated New Testament based on travel through the Holy Land. His watercolors are now held at the Brooklyn Museum.
