The Healing of the Officer's Son
At Cana a royal official begs Jesus to heal his dying son, and Jesus tells him to go, for the boy will live — and at that hour the fever leaves him (John 4). A watercolor by the French painter James Tissot, from his life of Christ.

French painter who, after a vision experience in 1885, devoted the rest of his career to an extensive illustrated New Testament based on travel through the Holy Land. His watercolors are now held at the Brooklyn Museum.
