Galt United Methodist Church

About this church

Galt United Methodist Church worships at 571 C Street in historic downtown Galt on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. The service blends hymns, songs from recent decades, contemporary music, prayer, Scripture, a children's moment, and a sermon. Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of the month. Tuesday music begins at 10:45 a.m., followed by Bible study from 11:00 to noon; weekly sermons are also available through YouTube.

Methodists have worshiped in Galt for more than 150 years, and the present sanctuary dates to the 1970s. The church hosts the Sunshine Food Pantry, which distributes free food on the second and fourth Thursdays from 7:30 to 10:00 a.m., delivers to senior residences, and shares surplus with farmworker households and people experiencing homelessness. Monthly fellowship, quilting, United Women in Faith, and recovery groups create other ways to connect. The congregation's long-range vision includes affordable housing for seniors and veterans and a freestanding pantry resource center. For a first visit, Sunday worship provides the best introduction to this combination of Wesleyan faith and community service.
