First Evangelical Lutheran Church

About this church

First Evangelical Lutheran Church worships at 803 Third Avenue in Longmont. The published weekend schedule includes a 5:30 p.m. Saturday service in the sanctuary and a 9:30 a.m. Sunday service in the sanctuary and online; an 8 a.m. courtyard service is offered seasonally from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Visitors will find Lutheran liturgy, hymns, preaching, prayer, and Holy Communion at every service. Clothing ranges widely, and people may follow the printed bulletin and hymnals without already knowing the service. Guest parking is available in several church lots around the property.

Children are welcome in worship, with a Prayground containing quiet activities and a nursery serving children through kindergarten. Sunday School meets at 10:45 a.m. during the school year. Communion is open to baptized Christians who seek Christ in the meal, with gluten-free bread available. The building also provides wheelchair access, an elevator, restrooms on both levels, a hearing loop, and large-print worship materials. Those concrete accommodations make First Lutheran especially easy to plan for in advance: a guest can select the quieter Saturday setting, the main Sunday gathering, or the summer courtyard service, then contact the church if a particular mobility, hearing, or child-care arrangement is needed.
