St Raphael Orthodox Church

About this church

St. Raphael of Brooklyn Orthodox Church celebrates Divine Liturgy Sunday at 10:00 a.m. at 1277 North Paul Drive in Inverness. Its monthly calendar supplies the dates of additional weekday and Saturday services, which vary with the Orthodox liturgical year. The parish welcome offers reassuring advice for visitors from different Orthodox jurisdictions—or those simply unfamiliar with local customs: pray in the way you know, because people may follow slightly different practices and there is no need to imitate every action perfectly.

St. Raphael belongs to the Diocese of the South of the Orthodox Church in America. The congregation presents Orthodoxy as historic apostolic Christianity and provides introductory material on belief, worship space, saints, and the sacramental life for inquiring visitors. Its patron, Saint Raphael of Brooklyn, was an early Orthodox bishop serving communities across North America, giving the parish a connection to the diverse immigrant history of American Orthodoxy. The official history, faith, and calendar pages offer more context than a conventional service listing. Someone planning a first visit can rely on the stable 10:00 Sunday Liturgy, then consult the month-specific calendar for Vespers, feast days, or other services rather than assuming a generic weekly schedule applies year-round.
