First Church of Crystal Lake

About this church

First Church of Crystal Lake is a United Methodist congregation where Wesleyan faith, worship, children, teenagers, groups, and hands-on service meet. Its mission is to receive God’s grace, discover purpose, and become sent to serve. Two distinct Sunday settings let visitors choose an intimate chapel gathering or a fuller sanctuary service with broader music and age-level ministry.

The abbreviated 8:00 a.m. service uses hymns, prayers, and a sermon in Hale Chapel and moves outdoors in summer. Sanctuary worship begins at 10:00 with hymns, contemporary praise, choral anthems, testimonies, prayers, and a livestream. Visitor parking is on the building’s east side; the outdoor chapel is on the west, where guests may use benches or bring chairs. Complimentary coffee and snacks are available before and after worship. Kids First serves nursery age through fifth grade at 10:00; lobby iPads handle check-in, and children may remain in worship. Fourth and fifth graders meet separately the first Sunday monthly 4:30–6:00 p.m. Youth in grades six through twelve study Sunday at 10:00 and gather at 6:00 p.m. outside summer. Public pages do not specify accessibility, secure pickup, volunteer screening, Communion frequency, or service length.
