Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church

About this church

Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church worships Sundays at 10 a.m. in its Evanston sanctuary, through the church website, and on its Facebook page. Thursday Bible study begins at 7 p.m. The congregation maintains a separate livestream page and an online-giving channel, giving people several ways to participate beyond the building. Its pastor answered a call to ministry in 1991, previously served as the first youth pastor of a historic Chicago Baptist congregation, and later led a youth ministry that grew to nearly 300 children with more than 40 volunteers before coming to Mount Zion in 2004.

The pastor's background also includes secondary-school teaching and administration, university teaching, a Master of Divinity, and a Doctor of Ministry, pointing to a strong educational dimension in the church's public leadership profile. The church publishes dedicated pages for ministries, events, pastoral background, contact, and livestream access, although several contain limited visitor detail. It does not currently explain the order or length of Sunday worship, music and preaching style, Communion and baptism, children's or youth programming at Mount Zion itself, nursery care, volunteer screening, clothing, parking, step-free access, hearing assistance, or the format of Thursday study. Visitors who need these particulars should use the official contact page before arriving.
