Our Lady of Loretto Church

About this church

Our Lady of Loretto is a Catholic parish in Hempstead administered by the Idente Missionaries, with worship and formation offered in both English and Spanish. Because the homepage presents Mass hours by day rather than as one fixed weekly table, visitors should use its live calendar to select the correct language and time. The parish publishes Saturday confession from 10:30 a.m. to noon and again from 4 to 5 p.m. Its office is open on weekday business hours, Saturday morning, and Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., making Sunday a practical time for a newcomer to ask questions in person.

Faith formation includes First Communion classes for students in grades three through seven, an altar-server school for children who have received Communion, and Idente Youth for grades six through twelve. The youth chapter began in 2014 to give English-speaking middle- and high-school students their own gathering space; a tenth-anniversary account describes growth from two participants to roughly 40 or 50 at weekly meetings. Adults can find Spanish-language formation through parish groups and shorter English Bible studies during the year. The Saint Joseph Social Services Center connects parishioners and other neighbors facing hardship with church and public nonprofit resources, explicitly offering help without discrimination by race, color, or religion.
