Emmanuel United Methodist Church

About this church

Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Lockport worships Sundays at 10:00 a.m. with a biblically based sermon, a blend of traditional and contemporary music, and a dedicated time for children. Communion is observed on the first Sunday of each month. From September through May, adult classes begin at 8:45 a.m. and children’s classes at 9:00, allowing families to combine Christian education with the main service. A prayer and healing service meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second Monday of each month.

Music is one of Emmanuel’s clearest routes into congregational life. The church supports a handbell choir for youth and adults, a praise team and Chancel Choir for high-school students and adults, and special youth-choir opportunities. Experience is not presented as a prerequisite; the ministry welcomes participants from beginners to seasoned musicians. Emmanuel belongs to the Upper New York Conference of the United Methodist Church and describes its doors as open to all for worship, fellowship, and spiritual growth. Visitors comparing Lockport churches will find one Sunday service, school-year classes before worship, monthly Communion and prayer rhythms, and several intergenerational ways to contribute musically.
