Bunker Hill United Methodist Church

About this church

Bunker Hill United Methodist Church in Kernersville offers contemporary worship at 9 a.m. and blended worship at 11. The early service uses a modern format and primarily contemporary music; the later service combines hymns, anthems, praise-band music, liturgy, and preaching. On fifth Sundays, the congregation meets together at 10:30 with Sunday school at 9:30. Communion is open to all on the first Sunday of the month. Dress ranges from shorts and flip-flops to suits and dresses, and parking is available beside and behind the church complex.

Children from birth through fifth grade receive creative, age-level Bible teaching, while students in grades six through twelve combine worship, mentoring, retreats, mission trips, and community outings. Service partners reveal a strong crisis-care focus: Next Step Ministries provides domestic-violence survivors with shelter, food, clothing, advocacy, education, and help obtaining protective orders, while other partners address essential needs and self-sufficiency. The church hosts Bethany Café on the first Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., sharing a free meal across economic lines as part of a four-church rotation. Visitors should check for a fifth-Sunday combined service before choosing between the usual 9 and 11 o'clock options.
