Coggins Church

About this church

Coggins Memorial Baptist Church schedules Life Groups, children’s classes, and teen classes Sundays at 9:30 a.m., followed by worship at 10:45 at 1306 South Main Street in Lexington. Its Facebook broadcast begins at 10:40. A Wednesday prayer gathering and youth meeting start at 6:30 p.m. The congregation describes itself as a gospel-centered, biblical Southern Baptist church with a friendly, down-to-earth community.

Founded in the late 1950s as a mission of First Baptist Church of Lexington, Coggins continues to focus on the city’s south side. Infants and toddlers have Lil’ Sprouts during the class and worship hours; older children can attend Sunday School or remain with parents in worship, where “big church” activity bags are available. Adults connect through life-stage groups built around Bible study, encouragement, and accountability. For a first visit, arrive before 9:30 to combine a smaller class with worship, or come closer to 10:45 for the main gathering alone. Families should ask where Lil’ Sprouts meets and allow time for the transition between classes and worship. Seasonal family programs include Vacation Bible School and a fall festival.
