Pleasant Gardens Baptist Church

About this church

Pleasant Gardens Baptist Church holds Sunday worship at 11 a.m. at 214 PG Baptist Church Road in Marion. The service blends historic and modern hymns, choir music, biblical preaching, and a children's sermon. Families worship together, with nursery care available on the second floor for children age four and younger and a foyer comfort room for mothers and babies. The congregation began in 1890 as Clear Creek Baptist Church; its current sanctuary dates to 1959, while an earlier education wing remains in use.

Sunday School begins at 9:45 a.m. and includes classes for preschoolers, elementary children, youth, young adults, and adults, with infant and toddler care provided. The family ministry encourages worship across generations and equips parents to practice Christian discipleship at home. Pleasant Gardens identifies with the Southern Baptist Convention's 1963 Baptist Faith and Message, making its doctrinal position unusually easy to review before a visit. For a first Sunday, arriving before 9:45 allows time to find the correct classroom; visitors coming only for worship can use the 11 a.m. hour and ask an usher about the nursery or comfort room. Current event and class notices should still be checked before travel.
