About this church
Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Waxhaw holds Sunday School at 9 a.m. and worship in the sanctuary at 10 a.m., with the service also carried on Facebook Live. Although the directory name emphasizes the preschool, the official website identifies the congregation as Bethlehem United Methodist Church at 5300 Nesbit Road and separately describes a weekday preschool program. The church traces its local history through an official historical account and maintains an active calendar of worship, fellowship, seasonal events, and community life. Guests should use the congregation's current schedule rather than assuming preschool hours are church-service times.
Children's ministry serves ages three through ten in Sunday School from 9 to 9:45 a.m. and Children's Church from 10 to 11 a.m.; the homepage more broadly describes its children’s program as serving birth through fifth grade. Nursery-room activities include a short liturgical experience, snacks, play, and reinforcement of the morning lesson. On fifth Sundays, children join their families in the sanctuary, where quiet activity materials are available. Current newsletters describe faith-and-science lessons, youth participation in worship, a family garden whose produce is shared through a Blessing Cart, and twice-monthly Sunday-evening gatherings with live music, devotion, projects, crafts, play, and dinner for prekindergarten through twelfth grade. Parking, accessibility, check-in security, worker screening, Communion, service length, and hearing assistance are not explained online.
