Calvary Baptist Church

About this church

Calvary Baptist Church is a mid-sized Salem congregation averaging about 150 Sunday worshipers. Organized in 1928, it is affiliated with American Baptist Churches USA and describes itself as a family church committed to God, Scripture, people, evangelism, and mission. Its long mission record includes local service, youth trips, global partnerships, and support for ministry in Africa and other regions.

Sunday School begins at 9:00 a.m., followed by worship at 10:30. Children’s ministry meets downstairs in the Tree House, with one page inviting families at 10:15 and another describing Sunday children’s programming during the 10:30 service; arriving by 10:15 is the safest plan for check-in. First-time nursery users complete an information card, and the adult who drops off a child is expected to handle pickup. A men’s coffee group meets at 9:00 a.m., while Prayer Quilters gather on the second and fourth Thursdays at 10:00. The official youth page confirms active programming but does not publish a stable recurring hour, so teenagers should contact the church. Visitors can pair Sunday School with worship or arrive before 10:15 for children’s check-in and the single main service.
