About this church

By the Word Baptist Church in Azle holds Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. and morning worship at 10:45 a.m., with a Sunday evening service at 6 p.m. and a Wednesday evening prayer meeting at 6:30 p.m. The church is a Baptist congregation that holds to the Second London Baptist Confession of 1689. Services include expository preaching that works verse by verse through books of the Bible, Scripture reading, catechism reading, prayer, music chosen for what it teaches, and an offering. Preaching is from the English Standard Version.

Beyond Sunday gatherings, members take part in street evangelism and an abortion ministry, and the church stresses meaningful membership and fellowship built around conversation about Scripture. Sermons are posted online through SermonAudio, where hundreds of messages are available, and services can be followed through the SermonAudio webcast and its phone, tablet and TV apps using the church code listed on the website. The church meets at 200 WN Woody Road in Azle. The website does not describe children's or youth programs, so families may want to call ahead with questions. Confirm service times on the website before visiting, since schedules can change.
