Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church

About this church

Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Corpus Christi celebrates Saturday morning Mass at 7:30 a.m. and the Sunday Vigil at 5:30 p.m. Sunday Masses are at 7:00, 9:00, and 11:00 a.m., with Spanish Mass at 5:30 p.m. Weekday Mass is offered Monday through Friday at 7:30 a.m. in summer and at noon; when school is in session, Friday morning Mass moves to 8:00. Confession is available Saturday afternoon and Monday and Thursday evenings.

The parish dates to 1904, when it began as the German St. Boniface community, and took the Saints Cyril and Methodius name in 1939 as Czech families became more prominent. Today it serves more than 3,000 families from varied ethnic backgrounds. Its Works of Mercy feeds and clothes people experiencing homelessness and assists families in need; religious education reaches hundreds of public-school children, and the parish school serves children from age three through fifth grade. The broad Mass schedule reflects that diversity, with different Sunday liturgies serving older adults, families, bilingual households, teens, and Spanish-speaking worshipers.
