St Bartholomew's Episcopal Church

About this church

St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church in Corpus Christi celebrates Holy Eucharist Sundays at 9:30 a.m., with an online broadcast available for people worshiping from home. A coffee hour follows in the parish hall, and the priest leads Christian formation after the service. On third Sundays, the liturgy includes laying on of hands as a healing ministry. Traditional sacred music is led by a choir with piano and guitar, with flute sometimes added.

The parish welcomes people to question, grow, explore, learn, worship, and celebrate without requiring them to arrive at a particular point in their spiritual journey. Organized in 1959 as a mission congregation, it first met at another Episcopal church and then in a junior-high cafetorium before its present building was dedicated in 1963. Community life includes hospitality for people who are ill or grieving, outreach through Ashes to Go, and ministries of care and support. An accredited academy on the campus provides a nurturing Christian learning environment for children. Visitors can expect one principal Sunday service followed by easy opportunities for fellowship and conversation.
