First United Methodist Church

About this church

First United Methodist Church in Missouri City offers modern worship at 9:00 a.m., Sunday School at 10:00, and traditional worship at 11:05. Services last about an hour and are available in person or online. The modern gathering combines fresh liturgy, prayer, sermons, a live band, hymns, and current Christian music. Traditional worship features choir, ensembles, instrumentalists, Scripture, and a children’s moment. Holy Communion is served on the first Sunday and is open to everyone. Clothing ranges from jeans and polos to dressier attire.

Greeters staff entrances and can help visitors navigate the campus. The Bell Tower entrance on the Murphy Road side is recommended, with accessible parking directly in front. Age-appropriate childcare is available at both worship times, while children’s Sunday School uses singing, play, and multisensory Bible lessons; volunteers complete Safe Sanctuary documentation. Adult classes range from long-established groups to open discussions for people beginning to explore faith. The church also baptizes infants and adults and recognizes prior Christian Baptism. This is a flexible Missouri City option for households comparing modern and traditional Methodist worship, online participation, and an education hour between services.
