First Baptist Church of Palestine

About this church

First Baptist Church of Palestine holds a traditional service Sundays at 8:30 a.m., Sunday School at 9:30, and a contemporary service at 10:45. On Wednesdays at 6 p.m., children, youth, and adults meet in age- or ministry-specific groups. The church describes itself as a family- and community-minded place for people saved by grace who want to know Christ and make him known. It affiliates with the Southern Baptist Convention, Baptist General Convention of Texas, and Dogwood Trails Baptist Association, and summarizes its doctrine with the 1963 Baptist Faith and Message.

Children have age-divided Sunday School at 9:30. During the 10:45 service, ages four through second grade may leave after congregational worship for Children’s Church. Girls in grades one through six can join Girls in Action, while Trail Life serves boys through outdoor adventure, integrity, leadership, and service. SHINE provides a 9:30 Sunday School class, supportive resources, relationships, and an adapted environment for people affected by disabilities and their families. Community outreach includes a fourth-Wednesday East Texas Food Bank produce distribution from 9 to 10:30 a.m., a local food pantry, poverty relief, and support for trafficking survivors. Palestine’s online guide does not resolve nursery care, child safeguards, disability access, sacramental dates, or online worship.
