River City Church

About this church

River City Church is a Spirit-filled Waco congregation with more than a century of local history and an emphasis on biblical truth, healing, transformation, and relationships. Its path for participation is summarized as knowing Jesus, finding community, getting equipped, and living on mission. Children, students, small groups, a service Dream Team, global partnerships, and monthly grocery distribution connect vibrant worship with practical ministry.

Sunday worship begins at 10:00 a.m. and normally lasts about seventy-five minutes, with expressive singing, clapping, and raised hands welcomed but not required of guests. Nursery serves infants through age four, while Kids Church offers age-appropriate songs, games, characters, and Bible values for pre-K through fifth grade. First-time children use a check-in process, so families should allow extra time. Students in grades six through twelve currently meet Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.; another ministry page still says Wednesday at 7:00, while the current connect page labels Wednesday 7:00 as seasonal adult teaching. Families should follow the Sunday youth page and confirm during program transitions. On the first Wednesday monthly, volunteers arrive at 2:30 for a 3:00 grocery distribution with Shepherd’s Heart. First Steps runs on three consecutive Sundays each month after worship and allows newcomers to enter at any step.
