The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Island Fox Ward, Saratoga Springs

About this church

Saratoga Springs lists seventeen meetinghouses of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in all, and the one at 3261 S Village Pkwy is a particularly full one, with four wards using it across a single Sunday. Island Fox Ward opens at 9 a.m., Fox Hollow Ward follows at 10:30, Fox Pointe Ward at 12 p.m., and Deer Meadow Ward closes the day at 1:30, keeping the building active from morning into mid-afternoon. The nearest other meetinghouse is only half a mile away.

Congregations are organized by neighborhood boundaries, which explains why so many groups rotate through one set of rooms. Each sacrament meeting runs close to an hour, with hymns, prayers, the sacrament, and talks from members, and each is followed by a second hour of classes, Primary included for children. Attendance is free and no collection is ever taken. The entrance, parking lot, restroom, and seating are all wheelchair accessible. As with any congregation, it is worth phoning ahead before a first visit, since local timing can be adjusted from year to year.
