Ebenezer Baptist Church

About this church

Ebenezer Baptist Church meets at 728 Effingham Street in Portsmouth. Sunday worship begins at 9:00 a.m., followed by Sunday School at 10:30. The church publishes Wednesday Bible study at 7:00 p.m. and describes worship as a shared time of prayer, preaching, giving, and encouragement from Scripture. A nearby parking lot includes guest spaces near the front door, where greeters can help newcomers find their way. Nurseries for infants and toddlers are available during church services.

The congregation presents itself as a growing and diverse Christian community where people study God's Word and build faith alongside both old and new friends. Its youth ministry is designed to deepen young people's understanding of God and encourage godly living, with current activities listed through the events calendar. Digital resources extend the weekly rhythm beyond the building: the site links sermons, daily devotionals, Bible study, and other teaching, while the church maintains online worship access through its media channels. Visitors can therefore start with the 9:00 service, remain for the 10:30 learning hour, or explore a recorded message first. The guest parking, greeters, nursery information, and clearly sequenced Sunday schedule remove several common first-visit uncertainties.
