St. Paul's United Methodist Church

About this church

St. Paul's United Methodist Church worships at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at 600 Wilshire Boulevard in Stevens Point, both in person and by live stream. Prayer requests can be sent during the online service, and an archive is available afterward. The church's Methodist presence in the Stevens Point and Plover area dates to 1856. It describes its present identity around hope in Jesus, inclusion, belonging, justice, and service rather than treating its history as the main reason to attend.

St. Paul's is a Reconciling Congregation that welcomes full participation across age, gender identity, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, marital or economic status, nationality, and physical or mental ability. Connection opportunities include a quilting team that makes lap quilts for people facing difficult circumstances, a senior fellowship on the first and third Tuesdays, and several music groups. The Chancel Choir rehearses at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, while handbells and other ensembles follow their own seasonal calendars. A first-time visitor can begin with the single Sunday service or livestream, then use the inclusion, care, or music pages to find a smaller community matching their interests.
