What Does 1 Chronicles 17:15 Mean?
The narrative closes the prophecy with a note of perfect faithfulness. Nathan tells David all these words and all this vision, holding nothing back and adding nothing of his own. The prophet who had spoken too quickly the day before now speaks exactly and only what God revealed. The corrected word is delivered whole.
Faithfulness in a messenger means conveying the message entire, the hard parts and the glorious parts alike. Nathan does not soften the no about building the temple, nor does he inflate the promise of the everlasting throne. He simply tells the truth God gave him. This is the calling of all who carry God's word: not to edit it to taste, but to deliver it according to all these words, trusting that God's message needs no improvement from us.
