What Does 1 Corinthians 3:11 Mean?
Paul states the bedrock of everything he has said. No one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, and that foundation is Jesus Christ. The work in Corinth, and every true work of God, rests on Him alone.
This is why the factions are so foolish. To belong to Paul or Apollos is to mistake a builder for the ground itself. Christ is the only sure footing for a life, a church, an eternity. Everything else must be built upon Him, or it has nothing to stand on.
