2 Kings 8:5
“And it came to pass, as he was telling the king how he had restored a dead body to life, that, behold, the woman, whose son he had restored to life, cried to the king for her house and for her land. And Gehazi said, My lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life.”

Context
This is one of Scriptures most striking moments of divine providence. The king is hearing the story of the Shunnamite womans son being raised from death at the exact instant she arrives to cry for justice.
What Does 2 Kings 8:5 Mean?
The providence of God does not feel like providence when you are living it. The woman enters the throne room, not knowing that Gehazi is at that very moment describing her sons resurrection. She cries out her petition, speaking her need to the king. And then Gehazi speaks: My lord, O king, this is the woman. Her story has just been told to the king. He has just heard of Elishas power to give life to the dead. Now, standing before him, is the very beneficiary of that miracle.
In this moment, the womans petition is no longer a simple legal claim. It is a word from God written in flesh and bone. The king sees in her and her son the living proof of the prophets power. His response will be not mere justice, but generosity sprung from reverence and faith.
Application
God sometimes arranges our circumstances with a precision that only faith can recognize. We may feel we are simply presenting our need or speaking our case, unaware that God has prepared hearts and arranged meetings to answer us. Trust that your prayer and your obedience are being woven into Gods larger purpose.
