What Does Acts 11:14 Mean?
This completes the angel's instruction and carries the weight of the whole account: Peter will speak words, and by them Cornelius and all his house shall be saved. Cornelius was already devout, generous, and prayerful (10:2) — yet he still needed to hear the message of Jesus.
Salvation comes through a told gospel: words about a Person, the Lord Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection (10:36-43). Devotion had brought Cornelius to God's notice; the saving word still had to be heard and believed. And grace aims wider than one soul — thou and all thy house.
