What Does Acts 13:36 Mean?
Paul reasons that the psalm could not finally speak of David himself, for David, after serving his own generation according to God's will, died, was buried with his ancestors, and did undergo decay. His tomb remained, and his body returned to dust.
Even the greatest of God's servants completes his course and passes on. David fulfilled the purpose God gave him in his own day, then lay down in death. The promise of incorruption, therefore, awaited another.
