What Does Acts 16:7 Mean?
Blocked from Asia, the travelers try the northern road into Bithynia, toward the cities of the Black Sea coast. A second time the answer is no. They are being funneled down a narrowing corridor toward the western sea.
Twice refused, they neither quit nor stand still; they keep moving along the one way left open. Divine guidance often works this way, one stretch of road at a time. The Spirit who restrains is the same Spirit who leads, and he is taking them exactly where God intends.
