What Does Acts 27:24 Mean?
The angel's message has two parts: 'Fear not, Paul' — for he must yet stand before Caesar, fulfilling God's earlier promise (Acts 23:11) — and the gracious gift that God has spared the lives of all who sail with him. Paul's calling guarantees his survival, and his presence becomes a shelter for the whole ship.
'Fear not' is heaven's recurring word to the faithful. God's purpose for Paul could not be undone by any storm, and for Paul's sake the entire company is preserved. So the presence of one servant of God can be a blessing to many around him.
