What Does Acts 27:44 Mean?
The remainder follow, some clinging to planks, others to broken fragments of the wreck. And so, exactly as God had promised, every one of the two hundred seventy-six comes safely to land. Not a single life is lost; the word spoken by the angel is fulfilled to the last soul.
'They escaped all safe to land' — the great deliverance is complete, accomplished through the very wreckage of the ship. God kept His promise (v. 22-24) down to the smallest detail, bringing the whole company through the storm. What He speaks, He surely performs. 'He that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved' (Matthew 24:13); and the same faithful God who carried Paul to Rome will bring His own through every storm to the shore He has appointed.
