What Does Acts 28:1 Mean?
The previous chapter ended with the ship breaking apart in a storm, yet every passenger and crew member coming ashore alive, just as God had promised Paul. Now, standing on solid ground, they discover the place that has received them: the island of Melita, off the coast below Italy.
What looked like ruin has become rescue. The God who steered a doomed vessel to a safe shore is the same God who guides His people through every storm to the place He has prepared. Deliverance does not always spare us the wreck, but it always brings us to land. Even an unknown island is held in the hand of the Lord, who loses none whom He has promised to keep.
