The leaders answer that no letters about Paul have come from Judaea, and none of the travelers arriving from there has spoken any evil of him.
God has cleared the ground for Paul to be heard on his own terms, free of slander that might have closed their ears in advance. No hostile rumor has poisoned their minds.
