What Does Acts 3:16 Mean?
Peter brings the sermon back to the man standing beside him, 'whom ye see and know.' The wording is emphatic, almost overflowing: his name, through faith in his name. The healing is no apostolic achievement; it is the living Christ at work, received through faith — a faith, Peter adds, 'which is by him.'
Power belongs to the Name, and faith is the open hand that receives it. Even the hand, Peter says, came by way of Jesus — he supplies both the healing and the trust that welcomes it.
