What Does Acts 4:29 Mean?
Only now does the prayer reach the crisis — 'and now, Lord, behold their threatenings' — and the request is startling. Not protection. Not escape. Not judgment on the council. Boldness to go on speaking.
They ask God to change them rather than their circumstances. The threat is spread out in his sight and left there, as Hezekiah once spread a hostile letter before the Lord (Isaiah 37:14).
