What Does Acts 6:15 Mean?
The chapter closes in a hush. Every member of the council fixes his eyes on the accused, and instead of a cornered man they see a face like an angel's. Israel had seen such a thing before: when Moses came down from speaking with the Lord, the skin of his face shone (Exodus 34:29-30).
Accused of blaspheming Moses, Stephen wears the glory Moses wore — heaven's quiet testimony before a word of defense is spoken. The radiance is not composure but the nearness of God resting on a man wholly given to Him; beholding the Lord, he has begun to reflect Him (2 Corinthians 3:18). The judges saw the light on his face.
