What Does Acts 7:50 Mean?
The Isaiah quotation closes with the question that settles the matter: everything any builder could offer God was made by God first.
He needs nothing from our hands, being himself the giver of all things (Acts 17:24-25). Worship, then, is not supplying some lack in him; it is honest joy in the One from whom everything comes. Of thine own have we given thee (1 Chronicles 29:14).
