What Does Acts 9:3 Mean?
The journey is almost finished; the city is in view. Then, at midday (Acts 22:6), a light brighter than the sun (Acts 26:13) flashes around the traveler. This moment matters so much that Acts tells it three times — here in Luke’s narrative, and twice more in Paul’s own retellings before the crowd in Jerusalem and before King Agrippa.
Saul is not seeking Jesus; Jesus comes for Saul. The light interrupts him mid-errand, in the middle of the road, at the height of his fury.
