What Does Amos 5:9 Mean?
The hymn continues, now turning to God's power over human affairs. He strengthens the despoiled against the mighty, so that even the strongest fortress is brought down. The Lord can reverse the balance of power in an instant, lifting the weak and toppling the strong.
