What Does Amos 9:13 Mean?
The promise blossoms into a vision of overflowing abundance. "The plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed." The harvest will be so vast that reaping runs straight into the next plowing, and the grape-treading lasts until it meets the new sowing. There will be no idle season; the land yields without ceasing.
"The mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt." The very hills seem to flow with the new wine of harvest, dissolving in plenty.
