Daniel does something beautiful: he prays for his people with his whole heart — and God sends an answer before he even finishes.
Today's Story
Daniel was reading God's words in the Scriptures, and he realized the time for his people to go home from far away was getting close, just as God had promised. So Daniel did what he always did best: he prayed.
And what a prayer it was! Daniel didn't pray for himself. He prayed for his whole people. He humbly told God sorry for all the ways his people had turned away. “We have done wrong, Lord,” he prayed. “But You are merciful and forgiving. Please, for Your great mercy's sake, hear us and help us.”
Daniel prayed with his whole heart, full of love for his people and trust in God's mercy.
And while Daniel was still praying — before he even finished — the angel Gabriel came flying to him! “Daniel,” Gabriel said, “the moment you began to pray, God sent me with an answer, because you are precious to God.”
Imagine that — God started answering before Daniel even finished asking! That's how much God loves to hear our prayers.

- Daniel prayed for his whole people, not just himself. Who could YOU pray for today?
- Daniel said sorry honestly and trusted God's mercy. Why is it good to tell God honestly when we've done wrong?
