After praying and waiting for weeks, Daniel meets a shining messenger from heaven who tells him something every one of us needs to hear.
Today's Story
Daniel had been praying and waiting for three whole weeks, his heart heavy. Then, standing by a great river, he looked up and saw an amazing sight: a shining man dressed in linen, his face like lightning, his eyes like fire. It was a glorious messenger from heaven.
Daniel was so overwhelmed that his strength left him and he sank to the ground. But the messenger gently touched him and said the kindest words: “Daniel, you are greatly loved. Don't be afraid. Stand up.”
And the messenger told Daniel something amazing: “From the very first day you set your heart to understand and to pray, God heard you. I have come because of your prayers.” Even when Daniel had to wait, God had heard him from day one.
The messenger touched Daniel again and gave him strength. “Don't be afraid, you who are greatly loved. Peace! Be strong now, be strong.” And Daniel felt brand-new strength.
“You are greatly loved.” That's what heaven said to Daniel. And that's what God says to you, too.
