What Does Ephesians 1:21 Mean?
Paul heaps up titles of authority -- 'principality, power, might, dominion' -- to make one point: Christ is over them all. Whatever powers seen or unseen may exist, none stands beside Him as an equal. He is 'far above' them, supreme without rival.
His supremacy holds 'not only in this world, but also in that which is to come.' There is no realm, present or future, where Christ does not reign. 'Every name that is named' bows beneath His.
