To this one like the Son of man is given dominion, glory, and a kingdom, so that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. And then the words that crown the chapter: His dominion is everlasting, never passing away; His kingdom shall never be destroyed. Every fleeting beast-empire is answered by a reign without end.
All the earlier kingdoms received dominion only to lose it; this kingdom is given and never taken back. The endless empires of force give way to a reign of glory that gathers every nation and tongue into willing service.
