Ephesians 5:7 Meaning and Explanation

Paul draws the conclusion simply: 'Be not ye therefore partakers with them.' His readers are not to join in the conduct that draws God's wrath. There is to be a real distinction between the way of God's children and the way of disobedience.

To be a 'partaker' is to share in something, to make common cause with it. Paul calls his readers to a different fellowship -- not with the works of darkness but with the light. They belong to another company now, and their lives should reflect that they no longer share the old ways.
